Welcome to THINK Lab!
We are a research group in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea.
Our group focuses on the design and safety analysis of next-generation nuclear reactors.
We utilize computational fluid dynamics (CFD), flow visualization, 3D printing, and optimization techniques to analyze complex turbulent flows and thermal-hydraulic behavior within reactors, aiming to enhance both performance and safety.
In particular, we integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into traditional CFD to improve prediction accuracy, and validate simulation results with flow visualization experiments using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV).
Our research supports thermal safety assessment and performance prediction for advanced reactor designs, including Small Modular Reactors (SMR).
We also employ AI and deep learning to reduce errors in simulations and build optimized models from experimental data.
By combining simulation, experiments, and AI, THINK Lab contributes to efficient and precise thermal-hydraulic design and analysis of future nuclear systems.
We are currently recruiting M.S. and Ph.D. candidates, as well as B.S. interns, to collaborate on research in fields such as Nuclear Thermal-Hydraulics and Artificial Intelligence.
